Faith Clotworthy is no ordinary 9-year-old. Dedicated to making other children smile during lockdown, she fills party bags full of little goodies and delivers them to children in her hometown Essex (UK).

In April this year, Faith came up with the idea to buy little gifts for the neighbourhood’s children to lift their spirits during lockdown. Mother Rachel gave Faith her first Amazon budget: £70. As a result, 50 neighbourhood children found a ‘little bag of happiness’ on their doorstep, filled with toys and gifts.

Not satisfied with making only 50 children smile, Faith received funds from her family twice more. Together with her mother, she has now delivered hundreds of party bags in their native Essex. First only to houses with rainbows, and later also to children nominated by the local community.

The ‘little bag of happiness’ party bags include mini notepads, activity books, crayons, sweets, toys, tattoos and stickers, all from Amazon. However, the most successful item ordered are the blank postcards, as the children can send them to their loved ones.

After having spent over £200 from their own pocket, mother Rachel created an Amazon wish list which generous donors can now use to contribute to the initiative. Mother and daughter intend to continue delivering the little bags of happiness, but Faith has big ambitions, she would like to make bags for children returning to school. In the future, she wants to make little bags of happiness for the elderly too.
